19 May Karen & Brian | William Aiken House
Every so often winter in Charleston can yield a day with warm temps, no humidity, and crisp sunshine. Karen and Brian were lucky enough to score one of those dreamy spells for their wedding this past February at the William Aiken House. Shutterbug Britt Croft confessed that it was probably one of her favorite weddings she’s ever photographed, and, after pouring over every image, we can see why. Planned and designed by Mingle, Karen and Brian’s celebration began with a heartfelt ceremony under the pergola in the historic home’s front garden. After being officially pronounced husband and wife, the couple stole away with Britt to snap portraits against the site’s Ann Street walls, a yellow stucco backdrop that’s a favorite of keen-eyed photographers. We’re just nuts for Karen’s jewel-toned bouquet of lilac, anemones, pieris, orchids, and ranunculus—bring on the texture! Following all the posing, the Patrick Properties Hospitality Grou kitchen treated the couple and their guests to dinner on the wraparound porches before the party took off on the back courtyard with music from Darby Events. And we can’t forget to mention their stunning cake by PPHG Pastry Chef Jesssica Grossman—what a knockout. Just like the sign it sat below, “We are in love!” Congratulations, Karen and Brian!
