They say that mother knows best, and we couldn’t agree more after seeing high school sweethearts Casey and David’s DIY wedding. Casey’s mom, an artist, planned the event and spent months adding new talents—including floral design, hand lettering, and candle making—to her already long list of skills.The swirly, hand-drawn font on the invitations (and on the signage, the table numbers, and the couple’s new monogram) and the artfully arranged, demure white bouquets show that mom’s good works were truly a labor of love. After a first look at Casey’s family’s Charleston home, and then a sweet chruch ceremony downtown, the couple and their gaggle of guests headed to a private club to get the party started. The color scheme of black and grey with glints of gold—all chosen by the bride—added just a touch of glamour to this natural-meets-elegant sunset soirée. Anne Rhett Photography captured each and every handmade detail and moment that this grinning group shared. From their delighted dancing to tunes from East Coast Entertainment to the heartfelt (and equally humorous) speeches, this reception is surely one for the books…and your DIY Pinterest board!
