Styled Shoot | The Cedar Room

Styled Shoot | The Cedar Room

So many couples flock to Charleston for its abundance of historic mansion and plantation wedding venues that it’s easy to forget the city has even more historic options to offer. Take the sun-drenched The Cedar Room—the downtown site (once a cigar factory) boasts towering ceilings and exposed brick, yet it still manages to radiate Southern charm. In this styled shoot, said charm is echoed with clever touches from precious pineapple soap as favors (yep, they do look good enough to eat) to the tropical-styled invitations by Sam & Co. Calligraphy. As for those surcies, Andrea of Motherland Essentials crafted them—check out her site and feed, she’s got sooo many treats on there. And while palms have caught the public fancy for a while now, we’ve not seen the motif take over the Cedar Room quite like this. Check out that runner from Wisteria Designs, the way the cakes from Southern Sweets Charleston sit atop Monstera leaves, and that tie the “groom” is sporting. Love it. (Oh, and bonus tip: You can find the couple’s ensembles at Verità. A Bridal Boutique—they now carry a select collection of men’s formal wear.) Cheers to walking off the beaten path with venue picks and styles, both.
