30 May Katherine & Matt | Middleton Place
We know that that first day back to work after a holiday weekend is always a bit tough, but let’s see if Katherine and Matt’s sweet wedding at Middleton Place will brighten things up a bit. This outdoor-loving couple knew that they wanted to treat their guests to a weekend full of fun in their beloved Charleston so they enlisted the aid of ELM Events to orchestrate welcome parties, get-togethers, and, of course, a beautiful wedding celebration at one of the South’s most venerable former plantations. Taking a note from Pantone’s 2017 color of the year (“greenery”), Katherine opted to have her maids don long fern-hued gowns and carry simple bouquets of calla lilies and eucalyptus—so elegant! After the couple said “I do” in The Butterfly Lakes under one of the site’s most magnificent live oak trees, the wedding party hopped aboard a horse drawn wagon and made their way to the nearby pavilion where the reception awaited. Gold chargers topped with palmetto roses (the perfect Charleston favor) and centerpieces of hydrangea, roses and mixed greenery graced each table, while natural stained chiavari chairs struck that perfect balance between relaxed and elegant. Whew. Our back to work day just got a whole lot more inspiring. Thanks—and congrats—to you two, Katherine and Matt!
