Kara & George {Lowndes Grove Plantation}

Kara & George {Lowndes Grove Plantation}

Kara wanted a tropical laid back affair. She worked with A Charleston Bride to create a crisp and clean event with a detailed Lowcountry touches. She was smitten with the beautiful landscape of Lowndes Grove Plantation.

The décor was designed to convey an organic and natural feel. To highlight this theme, the fabric tent poles were wrapped with raffia, rattan abaca pendants were scattered throughout the tent ceiling and rattan love seats created intimate seating arrangements for guests. The best décor of all though was the sun setting over the marsh enhancing the already gorgeous landscape but also making the opportunity for Karyn Iserman to capture some gorgeous photographs.

Ahhh….the cake. The classic lowcountry wedding cake by Ashley Bakery was inspired by the lost art of sweet grass baskets. While we know that it was fantastic, I wince at the thought of cutting into it.
