Jess & Tom | Magnolia Plantation & Gardens

Big Apple city slickers Tom and Jess were introduced at work five years ago by a mutual co-worker. In retrospect, Jess says she thinks that her future hubby may have sneakily arranged their introduction himself. Tom, you sly guy, you. Well, apparently his initiative paid off, because, after three years by each other’s side, Tom was down on one knee, popping the question—and shortly thereafter, a chilled bottle of champs— to the girl of his dreams. As for their wedding? The two jetted down South to Charleston (Tom took Jess there for a birthday trip their first year of dating) to tie the knot at Magnolia Plantation & Gardens. Even though rain was in the forecast for their wedding weekend, Jess tells us that after meeting with planner pro Lauren Miller from ELM Events (and tweeting direct messages at a Holy City meteorologist on the regular), her worries quickly melted away. “Be open to last minute changes and trust your vendors,” she advises. “You have to remember that everyone in the wedding industry has dealt with rain.” Amen, sister. With pastel petals lining the ceremony aisle, multiple dance battles breaking out mid-reception, and a six-layered chocolate chip cookie cake for dessert, this soirėe married classic elements with a bit of welcome unexpected. Cheers to that and to this darling newbie Mr. and Mrs.!
