Although rain was predicted for Janine and James’ Mount Pleasant wedding, the stormy skies skipped the showers and instead rained amazing, soft light upon the couple as they first glanced each other and then headed into their ceremony. Janine stunned in a sweet full-skirted Stella York gown and carried a bouquet of cotton bolls, wax flowers, and peach-hued berries that was echoed in miniature by James’ boutonniere. Photographer Britt Croft told us that their day—beautifully planned and designed by Ashley Nicole Events—had as many hilarious moments as it did picturesque ones, including a surprise rap performance from Janine’s sorority sisters, and the groomsmen serenading the couple with a David Allen Coe classic. The real surprise of the evening, however, was the breathtaking sunset over Shem Creek capped with a double rainbow. I’m no expert, but if that’s not good luck I don’t know what is!
