Shelly and Nathan met in high school in their hometown of Greenville, South Carolina. As fate would have it, they both separately moved to the Holy City for reconnected here over Facebook. After courting for four years they decided to tie the knot in Greenville, but not before Shelly got her Charleston bridal fix with a gorgeous bridal session at Lowndes Grove Plantation. After getting glammed up by her beauty team (Hair by Alise and Dannon K. Collard Makeup), she met photographer Lauren Miller at the iconic plantation on the bank of the Ashley River and managed to get a few portraits snapped outside before the skies opened up. Thankfully, the interior of the historic home is just as breathtaking as its grounds, what with its pastel wall colors, elaborate fireplace mantles, dramatic plaster molding, and its black-and-white tiled portico. The logistics bring up a great point: choosing locations that have indoor-outdoor options is as good as taking out an insurance policy for your happiness. Love it, and love Shelly’s pretty results!
