Grab a tissue because University of Michigan alumni Elizabeth and Tim’s nuptials are guaranteed to tug at your heartstrings. After their first “Hello” at a football game during their sophomore year of college, the two became close friends and started dating the summer before their senior year. Following graduation, they courted long-distance (with Tim in New York and Elizabeth in Washington D.C.) until she joined him in the Big Apple. Three years after that move, Tim proposed on a quad at their alma mater, and Elizabeth soon began planning a wedding in Charleston, where she had visited once with her family. Seven months before the wedding, Tim’s father passed away from cancer. The couple kept moving forward and made sure he was there in spirit (Elizabeth admits, too, to asking her father-in-law angel for one favor—that there be no rain). On a cloudless, sunny day at the Governor Thomas Bennett House, the lovebirds said “I do” and gave Tim’s father full credit for the clear skies. Afterward, with the help of Ooh! Events and Cru Catering, everyone relished in a country buffet and sipped sweet tea cocktails while relaxing on antique lounge furniture. The couple, who now live in New Jersey, joyously exited through a shower of confetti to hop in a vintage pearl-white Bentley from Tri County Transport.
