Kristen & Jonathan {Cottage On The Creek}

Kristen and Jonathan’s Charleston wedding was intimate, personal and emotional. And what makes this sweet affair even more charming is that the bride’s father planned the whole thing! Our friends over at Richard Ellis Photography shared this casually elegant affair with us and we were smitten. I just love the traditional elements from the embroidered hankie to the classic single strand pearls.

Cottage On The Creek Wedding

Gillian Ellis of Richard Ellis Photography sent over the write up from their blog…..

Kristen and Jonathan were married at Cottage on the Creek on Shem Creek in early June. The day began with hair and makeup for Kristen and her bridesmaids at Nick’s Salon in Mt. Pleasant. The ladies finished getting ready at Kristen’s fathers house where the Bride did her own makeup. After getting ready we whisked Kristen off to take a few portraits. The couple chose to do a first look so we had Jonathan sneak up on his Bride during her portraits. Needless to say the pictures came out gorgeous and represent a private moment between the two amidst the business of the day.

The entire wedding was planned by the Bride’s father and as such the ceremony was a very intimate and emotional affair. The couple wed on the outdoor dock of Cottage on the Creek overlooking Shem Creek. The Bride carried yellow roses to represent her grandmother that passed away. Kristen’s parents had trouble holding back tears during the ceremony and her father gave a heart-warming speech at the reception. As we learned during Kristen and Jonathan’s engagement session the couple are very goofy and giggly. Their reception reflected this as it was a fun and light affair. Guests nibbled on food from Jim N’ Nick’s between letting loose on the dance floor. Lauren Mitterer from WildFlour Pastry created a beautiful (and tasty!) cake for the couple and Jonathan was treated to a very unique grooms cake.
