06 Sep Janielly & Brian | Willian Aiken House
Combining families into one is our recipe for a successful wedding. It started when Southern-born Brian popped the question to Janielly, who is originally from Brazil, at “Night of a Thousand Candles” in nearby Brookgreen Gardens. There they were, just sitting together in “Yes!” bliss on a quiet bench beneath swinging lanterns when a bagpipe began to play and they entered swoon-worthy territory. For their wedding day, the pair aimed for The William Aiken House, with the goal of including their loved ones. One way they did that? Janielly’s bouquet was a mini memorial to her grandmother thanks to the matriarch’s tiny, pendant framed photo fastened to the trailing ribbons. Sentimental details continued with Brazilian wedding favors of Bem-Casado, mini Portuguese cookies whose name translates to mean “Well-Married”. The tradition is to send a wish to the happy couple before taking a bite. Fun, right?!
