Courtney & Jack {The Memminger Auditorium}

Courtney & Jack {The Memminger Auditorium}

Some weddings are so spectacular that normal words do not apply. They demand that new terms be invented to merely describe their grandeur, their precisely planned perfection. This is one of those days. This is one of those weddings. An event that is so inspired and eye popping with each and every detail. A wedding that hits it so far out of the park that it is the epitome of perwedfection. The list of trailblazing talents involved in this Memminger soiree reads like a list of who’s who in the wedding world. All working together in concert to create this fete-tastic affair the way that Kristin Newman Designs and Gathering Floral + Event Design are well known for. All fabulously photographed by the crazy talented Leigh Webber.

A few details from the big day that was designed to have the look and feel of classic Charleston charm meets New Age Vegas…

  • As guests arrived through the garden servers with specialty cocktails in hand greeted them. The cocktails were a mix of sweet tea vodka and lemonade, a classic southern beverage.
  • A well-suited space was created to occupy more than 200 guests for dinner and dancing. The dining room area was designed to reflect the Classic Charleston Charm atmosphere.
  • The dance floor, stage and the 40 foot bar mirroring the 40-foot lounge created the New Age Vegas atmosphere.

Favorite Design Elements:

  • Escort Card Display AND Wedding Favors, navy champagne bottles of Pommery Champagne Pop were displayed on a long running table in between the dance floor and dining room.  After the bride and groom completed their first dance guests found their names on the front of a hot pink folded card tied on the champagne bottle. The message inside read “You are seated at Table: “ and “Cheers! Think of us when you enjoy these bubbles!”
  • Local and TALENTED musician Tommy Gill played the baby grand piano during dinner.
  • The head table was centered in the dining room with candlelit fixtures hung above. Kristin Newman Designs and Heather Barrie of Gathering Floral + Event Design  collaborated to create a head table designed to seat thirty people. The bride and grooms names were embroidered on hot pink ribbon and fastened to the back of their chairs.
  • Custom made light fixtures hung over the dance floor. They were designed by Gathering Floral + Event Design . The classic crystal chandelier had been outfitted with long pink crystal strands to add a dramatic and vibrant feel to the Vegas dance floor.
  • Blossom Events created a phenomenal woven pattern in the ceiling over the New Age Vegas area.

Unique touches to reflect the bride and groom’s personal style and tastes:

  • Courtney and Jack rode from the United Methodist Church to Memminger Auditorium in a horse and carriage. The horse named MillHouse is a white Percheron horse owned by Palmetto Carriage Tours. MillHouse was specially requested because the Keen family owns the same type of horse.
  • The bride and groom’s first song was “Ice Cream” by Sarah McLachian. However, Quiana Parler and Friends learned the song and created their own spin so the bride and groom could dance to it live.
  • The Louis Roederer Cristal champagne on the cake table was a gift from Courtney’s aunt. It was opened during the cutting of the cake.
  • Two tastings were scheduled with John Zucker at Cru Catering to ensure an outstanding delicious menu. Zucker went to great links to get the sustainably farmed Sea Bass in for Mr. Keen. Also, on the menu was Zuckers custom Charleston She Crab Soup. He rarely serves it in the restaurant – a true treat!
