Ashley & Michael {Magnolia Plantation}

Ashley & Michael {Magnolia Plantation}

Ashley and Michael wanted a Charleston wedding that included their family and friends. They personalized their wedding by incorporating many family details and asking their guests to participate. They used two wedding baskets that the bride’s mother had brought from Africa and one sweetgrass Charleston basket filled with roses for the guests to decorate the arbour upon arriving at the ceremony. During the ceremony, the couple had a traditional smsizing wine ceremony. Ashley also kept to the something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue traditions. The “something old,” was a bible that has been in the family for over 100 years. For the something new, the couple had rings were designed and made by Ross Andrews Jewelry Designs. The “something borrowed” was the ring worn on the bride’s right hand. It is an antique from her great grandmother. The beautiful 19th century ring is designed with 52 diamonds. The “something blue” was a monogrammed blue hankie that Ashley’s mom brought back from Italy.

The bride LOVES pink and we just love how Ashley creatively selected the bridesmaids dresses. She worked with our friends at Bella Bridesmaid to choose seven different shades of pink.  She also chose a Bella Charleston favorite dress and it looked fantastic with her bridal gown details. Ashley had a a splash of pink as well…on her feet. She picked a pair of pink peep toe pumps form Stuart Wietzman.

The bride’s gown was designed by Jodi Moylan of White. Molly Lawson of D’lish Discriminating Desserts recreated the vintage floral accent from her gown and incorporated it as focal point of her cake.

The china that the bride and groom for their cake was Ashley’s great grandmother’s. And their toasting flutes were Michael’s great grandmother’s.
